Castee treats your podcast host’s RSS feed as the main source for show and episode information. Sync keeps your website current without copying every new episode by hand.
What sync updates
- Show title, description, artwork, and author details
- Episode titles, descriptions, artwork, audio URLs, and publish dates
- Podcast platform links detected in the feed
- New episodes and changes to existing feed items
Your site-specific design, custom pages, navigation, and section settings are not replaced by an RSS sync.
Sync your podcast
- Open Podcasts in the dashboard.
- Select the podcast.
- Choose Sync now.
- Review the last-sync status and any reported feed error.
Castee also checks feeds automatically. Efficient feed headers and content hashes prevent unchanged feeds from being processed repeatedly.
Publish new feed content
Sync updates the podcast content stored in Castee. If automatic republishing is enabled for the site, a meaningful feed change also queues a new release. Otherwise, open the site and choose Publish when you are ready.
Fix sync problems
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Feed cannot be loaded | Open the RSS URL directly and confirm it returns XML without requiring a login |
| New episode is missing | Confirm the episode appears in the public feed, not only in your host’s dashboard |
| Artwork is old | Update it at your host, sync again, then republish the site |
| Feed URL changed | Update or re-import using the canonical feed URL from your podcast host |
