Every published site can use a Castee subdomain. Creator and Studio can connect a custom domain such as www.yourpodcast.com, with HTTPS managed automatically.
Castee subdomain
Choose an available site slug to publish at:
https://your-show.cst.fm
Subdomains must be globally unique. Changing one can break existing links, so choose a short, recognizable name.
Connect a custom domain
- Open Sites → your site → Domains.
- Choose Add domain and enter the hostname.
- Copy the DNS record shown by Castee.
- Add that record at your domain registrar or DNS provider.
- Return to Castee and choose Verify.
- Wait for HTTPS to become active before promoting the address.
Use the exact target displayed in your dashboard. DNS targets can differ between environments and may change over time.
Apex or www
| Address | Common setup |
|---|---|
www.example.com | CNAME record |
example.com | ALIAS/ANAME, CNAME flattening, or registrar-specific apex record |
If your provider does not support the record required for an apex domain, use www as the primary address and forward the apex through the provider.
DNS propagation
Changes can be visible quickly but occasionally take hours. Do not repeatedly delete and recreate the domain while DNS is propagating. Check for old conflicting records and ensure proxy features are not hiding the required target during verification.
Migrating an existing site
Create and test your URL redirects before changing DNS. Keep the old hosting account available until important pages, forms, analytics, and HTTPS work on the new Castee release.
Remove a domain
Remove the domain in Castee before deleting its DNS record. Visitors can continue using the cst.fm subdomain if the site remains published.
